At the age of 4, Suzanne Ramsay told her neighbours in the northern Ontario town of New Liskeard that she was going to be a singer when she grew up. Well, she's all “growed” up. Her professional musical journey began in the early 80's while studying music at Sheridan College . A summer run at the Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville led to a 2 year tour throughout Canada and several eastern States with a 4 piece vocal jazz ensemble called the Sheridan Way . Suzanne then relocated to the Hamilton area. While working & attending McMaster University , she did studio session work at Grant Avenue Studios and sang with several local bands at area nightclubs and golf clubs. Then the millennium happened! She got married, moved to Niagara wine country and passionately put together her dream project…a retrospective look at late 50's jazz. She performed her jazz at the Niagara Casino for over 18 months and continues to play various jazz venues including the Junction Café in Hamilton and local Festivals. Suzanne has recently performed for various functions including weddings at local wineries and Golf & Country Clubs Suzanne Ramsay is available for club work, to jazz up your corporate parties, special events and festivals…anywhere jazz lovers hang out. She is currently working on producing her first CD. |

I don't play drums for a living, I play because I love to, and I love playing for Sue. As a matter of fact Sue is the ONLY singer I will play for now. I studied music at Mohawk College in the late 70's, taught music for a while at Sheridan College, then started writing music for a living. I've been doing that ever since. As a drummer/keyboardist I've played in Rock/Pop, Las Vegas Reviews, Cabarets, Theater pit bands, jazz bands big and small and countless studio sessions. As a composer/producer, I write for TV, short film, special events (corporate and non), pop songs for various artists and their albums, and co-write with as many people as I can. I'm based in Toronto , but work with producers from New York , Tokyo , Rio de Janeiro and elsewhere. I've had the opportunity to work with some of Canada 's greatest voices and Sue's smile comes out in her voice like the best of them. Writing has taken me around the world; playing helps keep my heart in it. Playing for Sue is just plain fun! |

Clark Johnston has been playing Bass since 1984. He studied Jazz at McGill University in Montreal from 1990 to 1994 and has since studied with the legendary teachers Jim Blackly and Charlie Banacos. Clark moved to Toronto in 1994 where he found himself working with some of the best musicians in the world; Mike Murley, Reg Schwager and Lorne Lofsky - just to name a few. Clark 's commitment to obtaining a Big Fat Tone and a Solid Groove really comes through in his playing. You'll soon understand why he has earned the respect of his peers when you hear the solid foundation he lays down for the Suzanne Ramsay Trio. "I love working with Sue because she can really Swing." |
